WE BOUGHT THIS CORVETTE IN JUNE, 1989, AND ARE THE THIRD OWNERS. WE HAVE ONLY PUT A VERY FEW MILES ON THE CAR, AND THE LAST TIME IT WAS ON THE ROAD WAS FOR OUR SON'S SENIOR PROM IN 1995. WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT, BUT THE CURRENT ROBUST ECONOMY SAYS IT MUST GO.
THE CAR HAS NEW BATTERY, STARTER, FLEX PLATE, TRANSMISSION MOUNT, AND BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ALL INSTALLED THIS SPRING TO GET IT IN SALE ABLE CONDITION. THE STARTER HAD A BROKEN NOSE CONE, WHICH CAUSED THE FLEX PLATE TO GO, AND REPLACED THE TRANS MOUNT AT THE SAME TIME. THE BATTERY AND MASTER CYLINDER WERE VICTIMS OF AGE.
POWER WINDOWS WORK, TILT AND TELESCOPING WHEEL, CRUISE CONTROL, FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING WITH COMPRESSOR REMOVED, I STILL HAVE COMPRESSOR, REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, LINE LOCK ON FRONT BRAKES, WEBER CARB, EDELBROCK MANIFOLD, HEADERS, SHORTY PIPES, FLEX FAN, NEW RADIATOR IN 2001, ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP, AND I STILL HAVE THE SPARE AND CARRIER FROM UNDER THE REAR. THAT IS ALL I CAN THINK OF, ASK QUESTIONS AND I WILL TRY TO ANSWER.
I KNOW EVERYONE THINKS THEIR CAR IS A HOSS, BUT THIS CAR REALLY PULLS STRONG. THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING IS THAT IT SEEMED TO STARVE FOR FUEL AT HIGHER RPM RANGE, HENCE THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP, WHICH DID NOT SEEM TO HELP. THE CAR DID, HOWEVER FIRE RIGHT UP AFTER FOUR YEARS OF NOT EVEN BEING STARTED, AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW BATTERY. THE TIRES ARE OLD ENOUGH THAT I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM ON THE HIGHWAY, IF YOU DRIVE IT, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
